All 'ya gotta do is dance like a chicken. While any dance song will do, there's no dance like the Chicken dance.
It's tradition at every wedding reception to play and to dance the Chicken Dance. It gets people of all ages up dancing and mingling. It puts a smile on everyone's face. The Chicken Dance is not limited to weddings. It is also played at other social events where there is a band and dancing.
The only problem is that events are way too frequent for a chicken dance lover. Therefore, today exists to provide you with another opportunity to dance like a chicken. So, don't pass up this priceless opportunity.
Origin of Dance Like a Chicken Day:
Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day.
We did uncover the origin of the Chicken Dance song. It was originally titled "Der Ententanz" (The Duck Dance). It was created by Swiss accordion player Werner Thomas of Davos, Switzerland. Thomas created it in the 1950's. Over the years, it quickly became popular, especially at weddings.

CREDITS: STORY PHOTO
BACK TO HOME

Chocolate chips are a great invention, and certainly deserve a little recognition. After all, where would chocolate chip cookies, cakes and muffins be without the chocolate chip!?
Chocolate chips are popular in cooking and baking, for a wide variety of breads, cakes, and cookies. There is an almost endless number of recipes. They are also used in decorating. Have you ever had chocolate chip pancakes? How about chocolate chips in trail mix? If you've never had these, then you're leading a sheltered life.
Rare is the leftover chocolate chip. If you don't use the whole bag, you and/or your kids will likely eat them as a snack before they make it to the storage container.
There are many recipes for having a successful National Chocolate Chip Day. And, every one of them includes chocolate chips.

CREDITS: STORY PHOTO
BACK TO HOME

So, go out and give a tree a great big hug.
Trees are a good thing. They give us shade, comfort and warmth. They give off oxygen, too. There are many, many benefits provided by trees. So, you have good reason to love a tree or two.
Everyone has a favorite kind of tree. Use today to identify a tree you love, and to pamper it. Give it a trim. Eliminate competitors around it. Feed it a dose of fertilizer. Tree spikes work great. And, give the tree some water, if it is thirsty.
Important Note: On Love a Tree Day, your attention must be turned toward trees. A bush or a shrub just won't do.

CREDITS: STORY PHOTO
BACK TO HOME

'Cmon, admit it... .. you're a Pack Rat like the rest of us. If you are a Pack Rat, you're in good company. You might as well come out of hiding behind those piles of valuable "stuff", and celebrate this fun day.
Its really easy to let things pile up. After all, each item you acquire along the road of life may have value or serve some meaningful purpose. 'Ya just never know. Making the decision to discard something of even remotely questionable value, is difficult, if not impossible to do. We understand you perfectly. Why? Because most of us are pack rats.
In keeping with the intent of Pack Rat Day, here are some Do's and Don't's:
•	Don't clean your room, basement, garage or any other area today.
•	Don't discard anything today...It may be valuable.
•	Don't even empty the trash today. You might have accidentally thrown out something useful.
•	Do keep an eye out for useful stuff being discarded by others.
•	Do go to garage and rummage sales. They can be pack rat gold mines.
•	Do look around your belongings and be thankful for what you have.
•	Do spend time thinking of uses for your things. Justification for saving is satisfying.

CREDITS: STORY PHOTO
BACK TO HOME

This information is straight from the League of American Bicyclists...
National Bike Month was started by the League. 2006 marks the 50th anniversary. The event was timed to coincide with the arrival of warmer weather. It has inspired countless bike rides, safety inspections, commuter challenges, ribbon-cuttings, "share the road" promotions, and other varied celebrations of bicycling in communities across the nation.
One of the most popular activities in Bike Month, is encouraging people to bicycle to work and forsake their motor vehicles for just one day. Bike to Work Week is the third week in May, and the third Friday in May is designated as National Bike to Work Day.
The League was founded as the League of American Wheelmen in 1880. Bicyclists, known then as "wheelmen", were challenged by rutted roads of gravel and dirt, and faced antagonism from horsemen, wagon drivers, and pedestrians.

CREDITS: STORY PHOTO
BACK TO HOME
